Use of Our Website

Our e-info login page is reserved for customers who currently own, lease or rent equipment from us.  This page of our site allows our customers to perform a variety of functions, such as viewing their service history, placing a service call, ordering toner, or supplying their meter reading online. 

Security of your Payment

When you place an order using Gold’s online shopping cart, your personal information is filtered through two trusted security measures. All credit card information received via our online shopping cart is received over an SSL encrypted connection, and then stored using PGP encryption.   (You will find descriptions of these security measures below).  Your information will then be retrieved by Gold administrators and your order processed.

SSL (Security Sockets Layer): A protocol for transmitting private documents via the Internet.  SSL uses a cryptographic system that uses two keys to encrypt data − a public key known to everyone and a private or secret key known only to the recipient of the message. Your browser encrypts the data and sends to the receiving Web site using either 40-bit or 128-bit encryption.

Your browser alone cannot secure the whole transaction; therefore, it is incumbent upon e-commerce site builders to do their part.

PGP (Pretty Good Privacy):  A computer program that provides cryptographic privacy and authentication. PGP is often used for signing, encrypting and decrypting e-mails to increase the security of e-mail communications.

Type of Information Collected

There are two different types of information that can be supplied online, as follows:

General Site Visitor Data
Anonymous, comprehensive information collected via our web server logs.  This information tracks our site activity, such as the number of visitors to our site, which pages they visited and how long they remained on a particular page.  There is no personal information included in this data.

Personal Information
The Gold Group of Companies may request information from you when processing an online purchase, or when you are requesting a quote from us.  This information may include your name, company, e-mail address, shipping information, phone number, credit card information and / or comments.  Personal information may be forwarded to the appropriate Gold location for processing.

How Your Information is Used

Your personal information may be shared with our employees, agents or other related entities acting on your behalf in order to

iii)Conduct customer surveys for the purpose of marketing and /or;
iv)Collect debts or other payments. 

This information is not shared with unrelated companies except to the extent necessary in completing your transaction.
